If you hear a voice
within you say

you cannot paint. then by all means paint

and that voice will
be silenced.

- Vincent Van Gogh -

Somewhere between loads of laundry and driving kids to baseball practice, Julie picked up a paintbrush. Using some leftover wall paint and a “canvas” built by her husband, Julie painted a picture to fill an empty wall in her house. A local art buyer saw the piece and began commissioning Julie to paint for her clients. Since that time, Julie’s artwork has won local and national awards and can be seen in private and corporate collections across the US and abroad.

Inspiration for Julie’s paintings comes from the things she loves—the memory of her childhood, her family, friends, nature, and home. By including bits and pieces of old family photos, vintage fabrics, memorabilia from travels, and pieces of her children’s artwork, her paintings give her a way to document these things. Each one tells a story.

Julie paints from her studio in Dayton, Ohio, where she lives with her husband and four children.
